Manufacturing Action Plan

The Manufacturing Action Plan is part of the follow up to the research report “Dynamic and In need of Talent—Manufacturing in Waterloo Region”, released in December 2012.  The Workforce Planning Board compiled a list of recommendations for action, originally identified by Local, Provincial, and Federal research reports. These recommendations were turned into opportunity statements and presented at a Manufacturing Forum held on March 18, 2013.

The Forum consisted of economic developers, college and education representatives, local manufacturers and others gathering to generate new ideas for action. The ideas were clustered in a report into major themes and, turned into action items for potential implementation in 2013 – 2014. The Workforce Planning Board monitored local activities and update this action plan on a regular basis.
